Solid ending to a fantastic series! Torn Sky by Tracy Banghart is the final book in her series Rebel Wing Trilogy about a young woman fighting for her country in the middle of war. Aris and Milek think the war is closer to ending than ever before. The man who tortured her is in prison, they saved some refugees from the other side of the war, and now they are getting backing from other countries. Then the news arrives that Safara has a deadly weapon that can annihilate an entire city. It’s up to Aris, Milek and their elite team to find a way to stop them before it is too late.
This book is much darker than the previous two (and that’s saying something considering Aris’s adventure in book two). I enjoyed the depth of the plot here. It spans across both Atalanta and Safara, told from multiple perspectives though Aris is still primary here. Nonstop, heart pounding action! I can’t say much more for risk of spoilers.
I loved seeing Aris’s continued growth. She has come so far from the person we met at the beginning of the series. Her relationship with Milek is amazing. It’s so easy to root for them. My heart broke for what the author puts them through in this book. She holds no punches. It’s true to life and glimpse on the ugly side of war.
Overall, I loved Torn Sky. I thought it was a fantastic end to the series. I was left with no questions about Aris, Milek, or any of the other characters. The plot concludes poetically, and characters I thought irredeemable are given closure. Highly recommend this to fans of dystopian and sci-fi.
